Happy Birthday, Paws and Samy!

Scroll down to see the results of the Banner Contest! And please vote on the polls on the side, over there somewhere --->

Today is the birthday of two of my cats, Paws and Samy!

We don't know their exact birthdays, so we just celebrate in October, which is when they were born. (We don't know if they're sisters or cousins.) Samy and Paws, as well as being sisters or cousins, are also rivals. They both think they ought to own this house, and not the other one.  They're very small black cats, which makes them good luck if you're superstitious (I admit that I am the tiniest bit superstitious). Paws has golden eyes and Samy has light green ones. They're both two years old this month!

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday, dearest pussycats,
Happy birthday to you!

Mouche & Clover

Hello fluffits! ;)

Thanks to FrostWolf for reminding me to post on the kittens! You probably already all know that little Chanson (pronounced as if the "ch" was "sh", and both Ns make an "ong" sound) died on the 29th of March.

Mouche and Clover are fine, though! They are now one month old. Their eyes have opened, and they're exploring around the house a little :D Here are some photos taken a week or two ago. :)

Mouche!
(Pronounced "moosh").

Clover!
(I'm sure you know how Clover is pronounced! XD)

Mouche is bigger and fatter than Clover. They both like exploring, and Clover squeaks a lot. :3

More photos when we're back home in France! (The neighbour is taking care of Paws and the kittens until we're back, as well as of Samy, Humbug, and Treacle.) For more stuff on what I do each day, click here, and for more stuff about my cats, click here. :D

Have a nice day! :)

Samy's Adventure

Hello! Most of you know I have a cat called Samy.  Well, she had an adventure which started yesterday and ended this morning at half past noon.  I shall now tell you the story.

Yesterday, my mother, my sister Kinyonga and I were going to the nearest big town to go to some appointments and the shops. But we never got there. What happened was this - our car bumped into the one in front, and the radiator broke. So we had to wait in the car for a long time while Mummy called garages to find one who could tow us somewhere for a price we could afford. Eventually we found one, they towed us back to their garage. It was weird being in a car which was moving without the engine on! Once we had got to the garage we went to the supermarket which was just nearby and then went home in a borrowed car. It was around seven in the evening by this time. As we always do when we have been out a long time, we let Samy outside. When we were about to go to bed, Samy still wasn't back. Kinyonga mentioned that one of the neighbours' Alsatian had been loose that night, and we all went to bed worried, hoping Samy would be back by the morning. But she wasn't.
Kinyonga has just got on the computer and I was sitting next to her when Daddy came in and said that Samy wasn't back. So Kiny and I got dressed and went outside to look for our pussy, before even having our morning cup of tea. (I like tea brewed well, with a good amount but yet not too much milk,  and no sugar). We rattled Samy's bowl, we called
"Saaaaaamy! Sam-Sam! Wheeeeeere aaaaare you?"
But she didn't come. We eventually went back inside. I have to admit I did shed a few tears over the situation. Where had our pussycat got to?
Then a bit later Daddy suggested we go to the neighbour's house to see if Samy was there. The neighbours have a big garden where loads and loads of feral cats live, and they feed them. Samy had been born there, and even though she didn't like it there, it was a possibility she might be there. (They weren't the neighbours with the Alsatian). But, when we had gone out, Kiny suggested we might go up the close a bit to see if Samy was there. So we walked past the house which owned the Alsatian, and, we could see upstairs on a sort of balcony, a small chunky black cat with light green eyes.
"It's Samy!" said I.
So I went over and called to the person who owned the house (she was hanging out the washing) "Ont cherche notre chatte et je quois que je la vois la haut!" which just means "We're looking for our cat and I think I can see her up there".
So the owner of the dog and the house said we could go and get her. But once we were up there, Samy had vanished!
The balcony led into a sort of storage room, and there was an outdoor staircase leading from it to the ground. We had come up the staircase, so we would have seen Samy if she'd gone down it. We hunted around the storage room for ages and ages, and were about to give up when Kinyonga found Samy underneath a chest!
So she picked her up and we headed  back down, very much relieved. And we saw what had kept Samy up there so long. It was the Alsatian. When Samy saw him she growled and was terrified. So we realised that the dog must have chased Samy over there the night before and she had been too scared to come down. But she was now safe at home.

News on Malty :3 and More!

Hello fuzzies! There's some news on Malty, my cat's kitten, who has recently gone to a new home! It's good news!

1. They're keeping his name as Malty, short for Malteser!
2. We're probably keeping his brother, Humbug, after all!
3. Malty is getting on fine with his new owner's dogs! I even have a photo which his new owner sent!

That's them! Sorry the pic is the wrong way round... Aren't they cute though?? :3

Changing the subject, Sasha Blythe really kindly made me a signature, nice isn't it?

The only two problems is that she got a picture of a wolverine, not a fox, and that it says Filly with an F, when I'm PH now, but still, great work, Sasha! :)

PS. New art on the My Drawings page! Remember to send your art in to treaclepuss@yahoo.co.uk!^.^

A Little Post About Cats :3

Hello everyone! This is a little post about cats :3 as it says on the title! These are my cats. (Note, the kittens have all grown quite a bit now).

The above is Paws. She is very playful, and once stole my toy mouse and buried it somewhere... Not good, Paws! She loves attention and jumps up to meet your hand when you're going to stroke her, which is very  cute!

And this one is Samy. She is very cute  and this isn't a picture of her at her best. She is Paws's sister and Daddy doesn't think she's that clever but he is absolutely wrong. Once I said to her 'Samy, where's Malty?'and she led me straight to where Malty was hiding! If that's not clever, then what is it?

This is Humbug, Samy's biggest kitten.
He is Mr. Adorable Purriness and Furriness, for me! :3 And I just realised, that annoying green highlinhgting has stopped!

Some people (who aren't British) wonder why we called him Humbug. Yes, humbug also means a hypocrite I think, and some people just think it's a ''bug that hums''. Yeah, well there's also another meaning. In Britain, you get humbugs, and they're a type of black and white peppermint, also known as bullseyes, or bullseye humbugs! Our cat Humbug has several nicknames - Hummy, Bumble, Houmous and Bumbleberry. Mummy thinks Bumbleberry should be his main name, but Kinyonga and I are against that, because he was christened Humbug at the first few minutes of his life, and he shall remain Humbug! :b

This is Treacle, Mr. Sweet Soft Tripaw Pussy.

I call him Treacling Splodge, Kinyonga calls him Treacling, but his name is really just Treacle, cute and sweet.
You may know what treacle is, but if  you don't, it's this stuff:

And you may say ''That's all very well, but what is that stuff?'' Fair question. Explanation copied off Wikipedia:  Treacle is any syrup made during the refining of sugar and is defined as "uncrystallized syrup produced in refining sugar". So that's what treacle is! Anyway, our cat Treacle is very nice, and he has only three legs. What happened to his fourth paw we have no idea, but he was missing it, and the vet had to get rid of the rest of his because it was affecting him in some way, I don't really get it. But all in all, Treacle is one sweet pussy!

I have to get off the computer now, so bye, and happy purring!

Malty's New Home

Hello! We found a home for Malty (below) yesterday. I going to really miss him...

My little squeaker. He'll be going in a few days! :( But at least he's going to a nice home. Well, not at least, because that's the main point, but I'm going to really miss him. And to top it all, he won't be Malteser Squeaker ------- (the -s were our surname, which I can't put), but probably a new name! Well, his new owner can call him John or Henry or Bert for all I care, he'll always be Malty to me. No, actually, I do care. I hope she (by she I mean his new owner) will agree to call him Malty! Anyway, see you!

~Philly Wood

PS. I'm now Philly with a P and an H, my parents said I should change it...
